Fetcham Festival 2016
On Saturday 11th June, Fetcham Village came together to celebrate 75 Years of 1st Fetcham Scout Group, The Queens 90th birthday and 100 years of Cub Scouts.
Celebrate was the theme of the event!
The day started in the heart of Fetcham village at 11am when the shops put on a variety of stalls. A large parade of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers as well as Fetcham Rainbows, Brownies and Guides then set off from the village and, headed by a vintage fire engine and a fanfare trumpet, made its way to Cock Lane recreation ground followed by families and friends for the main event.
The Festival was officially opened by 10 year old Cub Scout Ben Williams.
The afternoon was a lovely social event with a fabulous community atmosphere. There were all the traditional summer fete stalls, a Great Fetcham Bake Off cake competition, a display of old vehicles, a reptile tent along with all the yummy food and drink stalls.
There was also a stall with details of 1st Fetcham’s proposed new Scout HQ.
